Mr. Sevantilal Jivanlal Parekh graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Bombay (Mumbai University) in 1952. He has over 50 years of experience across industries including shipping, construction, manufacturing, investment, and finance. He held the post of Executive Chairman of the company and took on the additional responsibility of Managing Director on the tragic demise of Mr. Sunil S Parekh, who was previously Managing Director of the company.

Mrs. Sujata Parekh Kumar received her BCOM from Mumbai University, followed by an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, U.S.A. She has over 20 years experience as a working partner in associated group companies and firms. She has strong skills in financial accounting and MIS development. She actively manages a group investment portfolio in equities and debt.


She was appointed a Dealer on the OTC Exchange of India in October 1991, and co-promoted Practical financial Services Pvt. Ltd., a corporate member of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd in 1992.

The insurance needs of the Parekh and Parijat Group companies motivated Mrs. Sujata Parekh Kumar to start an Insurance Broking company. She passed the Insurance Brokers Examination and in January 2006, started Shinrai Insurance Broking Services Pvt. Ltd., licenced by IRDA, where she was appointed as Director and Principal Officer. In 8 years, Shinrai Insurance Broking Services Pvt. Ltd. has achieved a Premium turnover of 8 Crores under her able leadership.

Mr. Suhrid Somani received his BCOM from Mumbai University and is an expert in marketing and finance. He is an Executive Director at Claridge Moulded Fibre Ltd.

Rajiv Vinodchandra Merchant currently serves various companies as Director. He received an MBA from Canada in International Trading and Finance in 1989. He has vast experience in the International Trading and Logistics business, particularly in bulk commodities like cement, clinker, and bauxite. He has been located in the United Arab Emirates since 1996 and is part of the core team of United Shippers Limited’s subsidiary there.

Mr. Paras Dakalia has attained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Jodhpur, India. He has completed his Articleship of C.A. from M/s. C.C. Chokshi & Co., Ahmedabad, the most reputed C.A. firm in the region. He qualified his C.A. from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1975 and thereafter served various organizations, including IFFCO, and advised various firms for consulting them on taxation, audit matters, appraisal of business proposals, and arranging working capital and term loans from banks and financial institutions.

Before joining the board as Director of Finance, he was a consultant for USL for the last 12 years. His assignments involved arranging required working capital through consortium banks, long terms funds through financial institutions, compliance of income tax and service tax laws, compliance of Foreign Exchange Management Act, etc., He was instrumental in reducing the cost of borrowings through ECB borrowings and the issuance of Commercials Papers.

Emanuele A. Lauro descends from four generations of a ship-owning family, which has given him an innate understanding of the shipping industry. With a degree in international Business from the European Business School- London, and several months spent on board ships and at building sites over the years, Mr Lauro continues to hone his 360 degree vision and knowledge of this highly specialized and constantly evolving industry. After joining Scorpio in 2003 and having been appointed CEO in 2004, he was instrumental in taking his company to where it is today. The company manages over 60 ships and is involved in the Tanker, Drybulk, Logistics and Infrastructure market segments.

Carrying on his grandfather, Glauco Lolli Ghetti's tradition, and continuing to lead Scorpio, is a daily challenge for Mr. Lauro that he deeply cherishes and executes with the aid and experience of an exceptional team.
